1995 / Founding of the company in Brussels by Philippe de Coen, trapeze artist and artistic director, and Benoît Louis, musician, composer and administrator.
1997 / Liaisons Dangereuses, first produced at Halles de Schaerbeek, directed by Dirk Opstaele.
… This is a new art form they are inventing, an art form that is similar to that of Cirque Plume, Volière Dromesko or Zingaro. Yet they retain their own personality, and manage to step out from the shadow of their models to draw us into their universe. Le Soir, 17/09/1997
2000 / Calcinculo, first produced at Halles de Schaerbeek and again directed by Dirk Opstaele, stages a group of builders constructing an architectural folly composed of pulleys and ropes.
Hats off not only for the superb solo acts (swinging trapeze, straps, aerial silk, Chinese pole…), but also for their minutely choreographed execution – not to mention the breathtaking synchronization of the music score, ring and instruments. Télérama, 22/08/2000
2004 / Le Vertige du papillon, directed by Fatou Traoré, explores our reactions to the act of falling through the confrontation of circus and dance. The show toured for three years, totalling 200 performances throughout 60 cities in Europe, Asia and America.
For the acrobats, this performance will have required rigour and renewed suppleness, between the gracefulness of dance and the vigour of the circus. The result is a production imbued with freshness and punctuated with moments of great intensity. La Libre Belgique, 08/03/2004
2008 / Feria Musica signs its first programme-contract with the French-speaking Community of Belgium, a first for the circus arts sector in French-speaking Belgium.
2009 / Infundibulum, a curious object, where acrobats and musicians, under the direction of Mauro Paccagnella, defy the laws of time and gravity around a wooden and metal structure, an enormous hourglass, a funnel resistant to any assault.
Infundibulum combines strength and lightness, a baroque atmosphere and clear lines, power and elegance. Mauro Paccagnella’s intimate staging skilfully blends femininity, masculinity and animality, while Philippe de Coen has also left his mark on the show. His innovative use of the Russian swing and his amazing wooden structure are valuable additions to the history of contemporary circus. La Libre Belgique, 03/10/09
2012 / Sinué, the company’s 5th show, extended the collaboration with Mauro Paccagnella around the sinuous journey of an individual’s growth – a lifelong process! First produced on 30 March 2012 at Cirque-Théâtre d’Elbeuf (F).
2013 / The company settles in the Centre Communautaire de Joli Bois, in Woluwé-Saint-Pierre, for one year, willing to create a place for companies, a rehearsing space for Feria Musica and other circus companies.
2014 / Daral Shaga, opera circus, is created at the Opéra-Théâtre de Limoges. Described as a “circus wonder at the opera” by a journalist from France Inter, the show is considered as a beautiful outcome for the company.
